Welcoming back the “normal”
We have maintained throughout the pandemic that you must dress up for your own joy! Now as the world slowly wakes up to the dawn of the post-pandemic era, many of you are likely to feel the post-corona blues. But, wake up, we say! And look at the world around you, opening up again. Be party to the brand-new styles and fashion statements that this change brings with it, and be ready for reorientation. However, this process of realignment may make you feel as though fashion and the styles you adopt may not be the utmost priority, but don’t let the inertia fool you. In fact, your style can be a much compelling tool to help you get used to the new normal.
Comfort in style- No, you can’t wear those sweats to the parties, that is not the comfort we are talking about! On a more serious note, the pandemic had most of realizing that style or fashion does not need to come at a compromised level of comfort. So, fancy t-shirts may make way into your life at your go-to attire for going out. You may not feel any love lost with your heels, and your sneakers may just be more enjoyable. The casual and comfortable look is more likely to be adopted by most as they wake up from the slumber of lockdown.
Versatility is the new entrant- There have been two stark realizations these gone months- firstly, money is very transient, and secondly, you can make do with less. Hence, customers are more likely to go with versatile purchases rather than the one-time impulse ones that get worn only once every year. You will buy what you know you can wear and not something you may wear. For example, our culottes have been a huge hit during the pandemic, because they combine both sought-after values- comfort and versatility. You can check them out, here.
Accessorize and how! – Do you think lipsticks will sell more or eye make-up? That is anyone’s guess! It is very natural if you wear the mask and feel like half of your personality is now hidden. This will lead to the inclusion of accessories, even in the wardrobes that were alien to them before. Right from headgears to bracelets, from scarves/bandanas to fancy earrings, you better double up on them because an accessorizing avalanche is on its way!
Workwear to mellow down- Now that each one of us has a taste of the minimalism, the workwear is expected to include timeless pieces in your wardrobe and the ones that are more ready-to-wear rather than the ones that need styling. Take our pantsuits and skirt suits, for example, while they are immensely stylish, they are also custom-made, and very light to wear. Cotton is likely to be in, and so are light-hued colours.
Dressing up is always personal, for us. And that is what we aim to achieve with our collection at Power Sutra. Why please others when you can please yourself and be content with it? Wear what works for you, and wear it in style. Your post-pandemic look is sorted!
